Enable push notifications

You can enable push on desktop or mobile by following the corresponding steps for your device or browser.

If you've already followed these instructions and are still not receiving push notifications, refer to the troubleshooting guide.

On desktop (macOS)

  1. Navigate to System Settings > Notifications on your computer
  2. Click on Shortwave from the Application Notifications list
  3. Toggle on Allow notifications

On all browsers

  1. Navigate to Shortwave Settings > Notifications
  2. If you see the following banner, click "Turn on":
  3. Click "Allow" when your browser prompts you to show notifications

If you do not see the banner from step 2, follow the instructions that correspond to your browser below

Chrome

  1. Go to app.shortwave.com
  2. Click on the lock πŸ”’ to the left of the URL
  3. Toggle on Notifications
  4. Refresh the page

Firefox

  1. Go to app.shortwave.com
  2. Click the blocked notification icon to the left of the URL
  3. Click the X on the "Blocked" indicator
  4. Refresh the page
  5. Click "Enable" when you see the banner requesting permission to enable push notifications

Safari

  1. From your computer's menu bar, click Safari > Settings
  2. Click on the Websites tab
  3. Click "Notifications" in the left scroll pane
  4. Find app.shortwave.com and ensure it is set to "Allow"
  5. Close the menu and refresh the page

Edge

  1. Go to app.shortwave.com
  2. Click on the lock πŸ”’ to the left of the URL
  3. Click the Notifications dropdown and select "Allow"
  4. Close the menu and refresh the page

On mobile

iOS

  1. Navigate to iOS Settings > Notifications on your device
  2. Tap on Shortwave
  3. Toggle on Allow notifications

Android

  1. Open the Android Settings app
  2. Search settings for "Shortwave" and tap on the result
  3. Under App info tap Notifications
  4. Toggle on notifications
